Uterus, Vagina, Fallopian Tubes, Clit (GASP!) sex discrimination

This article is from Chloe at Feministing about Florida’s House fearing the word UTERUS… i heart chloe, her posts always make me chuckle (while at work, and that is suspicious hahah):

So does this rule apply to all body parts and all figures of speech? Could Rep. Randolph have said that in the long term, cutting funding for women’s health will cost the state an arm and a leg? What about apologizing for his uterus remark by admitting that he’d put his foot in his mouth? Does the rule ban mention of arms, legs, feet and mouths? Or is it just, as I suspect, applied in cases where naughty female bits are mentioned? Randolph seems to think so, and he called it “a sad commentary about what we think about sex education in the state.”

Also, originally seen at feministing but from the amazing Sociological Images is data behind the walmart sex discrimination:

Walmart isn’t fighting the data. They’re not claiming non-discrimination. Instead, they’re arguing that compensation should be restricted to the women directly named in the suit instead of the 1.5 million women who’ve worked there. In other words, they’re hoping that the judge will not grant “class action” status to the case. If he does, it will be the largest class action lawsuit in history.

If I didn’t feel that walmart was such an evil, evil entity, I would feel bad for them.. they’re obviously not the only ones who are discriminating against women like this, they just got caught. If this isn’t considered a class-action lawsuit, i’m pretty sure the shit will hit the fan, or at least it should, now that women across the country who work for Walmart know they’re being janked. Imagine if all the women who work for walmart went on strike (and men who support them).
